Tower of Power
Who? All 5-8th grade Sandburg Students
What? It is a school-wide STEM challenge where students compete in groups of 3-4 to build the tallest towers out of the materials provided. It costs $5 to participate (per person). Forms to sign up will be handed out in Science class. You can form teams with any Sandburg student (in all classes and grade levels).
When? It takes place on Wednesday, February 18. - 6:30-6:45 is Check-in. 7:00pm the timer starts to build the tower. 8:00 timer ends, and then the judging begins. The event should end around 8:30.
Where? Sandburg gym - Spectators are welcome to sit in the bleachers to watch.
Some groups choose to pick a theme and dress accordingly (ex M & M's - all wearing different colored M & M shirts, superheroes, sports, etc...). This isn't required, but there are prizes for the most creatively dressed group, in addition to the tallest tower and “surprise requirement.”
Intramural Information
Anime Club will start up again on Thursday, 2/4
Email the intramural advisor with any questions. ALWAYS listen to the announcements in the morning and afternoon for any additional intramural information. Most intramural activities are after school until 4:00pm. Check with the advisor to be sure. Intramural activities are sometimes canceled for various reasons. Sports Information
The PIAA CIPPE forms are needed by ALL 7th and 8th grade students that play any of the interscholastic middle school sports BEFORE they try out. It is recommended that you get your physical after May 31st every year. This way, it is valid for the entire school year. PIAA forms are available to print from the Athletic Directors website
